Story time! At Fanime, one elevator was so crowded that it got trapped for 45 minutes with 14 people on it. They had to call the fire department to get them out. Moral of the story? Don’t put 14 rowdy cosplayers in an elevator.
Actually, one of my close friends was on that elevator and they weren’t a rowdy group at all, they were just calmly standing there. It turns out that it broke because the elevators had been running 24 hours a day for three days in a row and overheated. On any other given day, there’s a period of time where elevators are given a rest period because everyone’s asleep. No one sleeps at cons. The real moral of the story? Get some damn rest. Or take the stairs if your room’s under the fifth floor.
